Interuniversity Medicalphysics Center (IMPC) was established on the base of two institutes of higher education Chelyabinsk State University (CSU) and Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy(CSMA). Physicists of CSU and physicians of CSMA united for creation and application of modern, laser medical technologies.

ACTIVITIES

• Teaching of students and specialists (laser medicine, science intensive medical technologies, laser medical physics and engineering).
• Development, production and maintenance of equipment and devices for investigations and medical practice.

LASER THERMOTHERAPY for thyroid diseases:

• Nodular goiter,
• Thyrotoxicosis,
• Thyroid cancer.

LASER OSTEOPERFORATION for inflammatory and destructive diseases of bone tissue:

• Chronic and acute osteomyelitis,
• Bone and osteoarticular panaritium,
• Osteochondropathy (Perthes disease, Osgood-Schlatter disease),
• Protracted nonunion of fractures and pseudoarthrosis,
• Diabetic foot.

LASER COAGULATION for treatment of vascular displasia and hemangiomas, especially in newborns and infants:

• Simple and cavernous hemangiomas,
• Teleangiectasias,
• Port-wine stains,

LASER PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY of malignant tumours with photosensitizer "Radachlorin":

• Skin cancer,
• Cancer of urinary bladder,
• Cancer of stomach and esophagus,
• Rectal cancer.

All techniques allow to avoid serious major operation in many cases
